GO! Create: Fashion & Textiles

£10.00 per person

Taking in a wide range of tools across paper, pens, gouache, and collage, participants will craft individual and group collections within a friendly and supportive environment. These practical, hands-on, fun-packed sessions will teach you how to develop your own unique dress sense, become responsible consumers and how to design and make clothes and accessories.

SPACE Scheme - Manifold Valley

This child-friendly route in the White Peak manages to pack a decent amount of interest into a relatively short ride. Starting at Hulme End, it is a gentle amble through the picturesque valleys of the Hamps and Manifold rivers, via the hamlet of Ecton, passing beneath the famous Thor’s Cave gaping over the trail from its position up in the limestone spur.

Join us for a remarkable GO! Camping activity and unlimited amounts of fun! The South West Peak is an untamed area of upland and associated foothills in the south-west part of the Peak District National Park.

Community Picnic - Burslem

Back for 2019, YMCA North Staffordshire’s Community Picnics will be taking place across the city over the summer holidays. Everyone is welcome to our free Community Picnics. We will have food and drink, arts & crafts and sports activities as we believe in healthy and active kids. We cannot guarantee that the sun will shine, but we can guarantee is that you will have a fantastic time.

You are provided with some high-quality facilities that are perfect for all ages and abilities. Are you up for the challenge to climb to the very top! Set your best time and challenge your friends. Start with the easier routes and then aim for the most challenging ones. GO! Climb

This jump-tastic activity is a fun and friendly way to keep the youngsters active. Learn a new skill and a new sport whilst having fun. Whether they are reaching for the stars or aiming to pull off the most amazing trick. Trampolining is a great indoor exercise.

Fishing can be a fantastic and fun sport for kids. Learn how to introduce fishing to your prospective young angler and enjoy a wonderful activity that promotes quality friend’s time together. Fishing is a rewarding sport — your youngster can get away from the hustle to enjoy the fresh air, learn about the environment, and even develop patience. Best of all, fishing is quality time spent together talking, laughing, and even sitting quietly side by side.

BLUE PLANET AQUARIUM

Get up close to Awesome Sharks at Blue Planet Aquarium and see real scuba divers in our daily feed shows in the Aquatheatre. Much like David Attenborough’s documentary, this aquarium gets you right up close to water-bound beasties including over 1,500 fish. If you keep your eyes open, you’ll find all sorts of different creatures lurking from the octopus and electric eels to stingrays and caiman crocs! Immerse yourself in our breath-taking underwater tunnel and experience large sharks swimming over your head!

The annual YMCA sports day isn’t exactly the Olympics, but it’s just as fun and the stakes are almost as high. There will be classic sports day games such as the egg and spoon race but we like to always throw in a new twist here and there, so come on down and take part in this family favourite.

GO! Dance Workshop

Dance is a joyful, constructive opportunity that allows youngsters to tap into their sense of discovery and self-expression. Young people will experience activities that encourage self-expression and build self-esteem, develop imagination, critical thinking and valuable social skills. Whether you are a beginner or you are advanced, this workshop is for everyone.

Transport

Transport is provided for most of the sessions and activities listed. You must request transport from one of our pick up points when making a booking with the YMCA GO! team. Pickups and Drop-offs start and finish one hour either side of session times. Specific times will be given once a booking has been made.
