We are delighted to share some fantastic news from our YMCA community, as resident Teddy has successfully secured a procurement apprenticeship with JCB, starting this September.
Teddy’s achievement is a testament to his hard work, determination, and commitment to building a positive future. His journey highlights the impact of the supportive and nurturing environment at YMCA, where young people are empowered to grow, develop, and pursue their ambitions.
Reflecting on his success, Teddy said:
I would like to thank everyone at YMCA for being so supportive and for providing a positive and nurturing environment that has allowed me to thrive. I truly cannot imagine my journey without YMCA.
Teddy also expressed his sincere gratitude to Nathan Joy-Johnson, a valued member of the YMCA Board, who played a key role in his journey. Through valuable work experience in procurement, Nathan helped spark Teddy’s interest in the field, ultimately inspiring him to apply for the apprenticeship.
Gareth Walley, Teddy’s Personal Development Coach, praised his progress and dedication:

Teddy has shown incredible commitment and growth during his time with us. He has embraced every opportunity, developed his skills, and remained focused on his goals. This apprenticeship is a well-deserved achievement, and we are all incredibly proud of him.
This achievement is a brilliant example of what can be accomplished when opportunity, guidance, and determination come together. We are incredibly proud of Teddy and look forward to seeing all that he will achieve in the future.
