The Separated Parents Information Programme (SPIP) has been replaced by Planning Together for Children (PTFC). PTFC is a new programme that is designed to help parents who are separating or living apart to put the needs and best interests of their children first.
The programme is delivered nationwide and is made up of online learning followed by an interactive live digital group session.
The PTFC programme focuses on the child and contains updated content that is relevant and representative. The programme also includes a digital learning component, but retains the group work component of SPIP. This is important because group work can provide parents with the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from each other.
The PTFC programme measures engagement, impact, and learning outcomes. This information is used to improve the programme and ensure that it is meeting the needs of parents and children. The programme also ensures accessibility by providing support where needed.
If you are a parent who is separating or living apart, you may be referred to the PTFC programme by the Family Court or your FCA (Cafcass Family Court Advisor). If you are interested in learning more about the programme, you can visit the Planning Together for Children website.
Here are some of the benefits of attending the PTFC programme:
- You will learn how to put the needs of your children first.
- You will learn how to communicate effectively with your co-partner.
- You will learn how to agree on parenting arrangements that are in the best interests of your children.
- You will learn how to manage conflict in a way that does not harm your children.
- You will have the opportunity to share your experiences with other parents who are going through the same thing.
If you are a parent who is separating or living apart, I encourage you to learn more about the PTFC programme. It is a valuable resource that can help you to create a better future for your children.
